Non-Opioid Pain Management
Advanced minimally and non-invasive therapies for chronic pain

Clermont Pain Management & Ketamine Clinic

Sunshine Interventional Pain and Wellness Center offers direct access to holistic care that eases pain, improves function, and promotes wellness. Our interventional pain medicine specialists, Todd W. Mautner, DO, and Sameer K. Goel, MD, DABA, trained under nationally renowned pain experts Melinda Lawrence and Salim Hayek in Cleveland, Ohio. Both Drs. Goel and Mautner offer patients cutting-edge, minimally, and non-invasive therapies for various pain conditions, and ketamine therapy for pain and treatment-resistant mental health conditions in our Clermont pain management clinic.

Our pain experts utilize the newest, most effective therapies to treat chronic pain conditions without the use of opioid medications (examples are codeine, hydrocodone, oxycodone, buprenorphine, morphine, hydromorphone, fentanyl, tramadol, and methadone). Although we do not prescribe opioid medications, we do utilize ketamine, non-narcotic medications, and interventional procedures to assist with tapering off opioids. We are excited about this opioid-free approach to pain management in our Clermont pain management clinic because it is more effective and has fewer side effects than traditional opioid-based treatments. Our patients are also much more likely to stay compliant with their treatment plan and see measurable results. This approach has been a breakthrough in the treatment of chronic pain and we are thrilled to be able to offer cutting-edge therapies to our patients.

Pain is one of the most common issues patients face. It has numerous causes, including chronic conditions or acute injuries. Regardless of the cause or severity of your pain, our mission is to alleviate your suffering and improve your quality of life. Our goal is to offer you safe, effective treatment options that will help you find relief from your symptoms so that you can get back to enjoying your daily life.

Ketamine for Mental Health

In recent years, low-dose ketamine therapy has emerged as a promising treatment for a variety of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anorexia nervosa, postpartum depression, and substance abuse disorder. Unlike traditional antidepressant medications, which can take weeks or even months to take effect, ketamine therapy can produce rapid and lasting improvements in mood and function within hours to days. It also curbs cravings for opioids, cocaine, and alcohol. In addition, ketamine is relatively well-tolerated and has a low risk of serious side effects. As a result, it has become an increasingly popular treatment option for those struggling with treatment-resistant mental illness and substance abuse disorders. If you are considering low-dose ketamine therapy for yourself or a loved one, be sure to consult with one of our specialists to learn more about this potentially life-changing treatment.

5 Things You Should Know About Ketamine for Mental Health

  1. Ketamine is an FDA-approved anesthetic that is used as an off-label therapy for treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, anorexia nervosa, postpartum depression, and substance abuse disorder.
  2. It is a safe and effective treatment that has been shown to help reduce symptoms of these conditions.
  3. Ketamine therapy is typically given as a series of infusions over 1-2 weeks.
  4. The exact number of infusions will be determined by the practitioner based on the individual's response.
  5. It may be covered by insurance as an out-of-network benefit, but it is important to check with your insurance provider to confirm coverage.

Ketamine therapy is one possible way to treat symptoms, but it's not right for everyone. You must have failed at least two medications and talk therapy to be a candidate for ketamine therapy. You must also have an appropriate diagnosis and be followed by a psychiatric or addiction professional before and during therapy.

If you would like more information about ketamine for mental health or substance abuse disorder, call 689-407-8647.

Do you offer spinal cord stimulation?

At Sunshine Interventional Pain and Wellness Center, we offer a wide range of services to help our patients live healthy and happy lives. One of the services we offer is spinal cord stimulation. Spinal cord stimulation is a treatment that can be used to relieve pain. It involves placing a small device near the spinal cord. The device sends electrical signals to the spinal cord, which helps to block pain signals. If you are interested in spinal cord stimulation, call 689-407-8647 to schedule an appointment. We would be happy to discuss this treatment option with you further and answer any questions you may have.

What kind of advanced pain therapies do you offer?

At our Clermont pain medicine clinic, we offer a wide range of advanced techniques for managing pain, including topical therapies for neuropathic pain, implanted devices (DRG, Vertiflex, and spinal cord stimulators), and ketamine infusions for treatment-resistant pain conditions. We also prescribe non-opioid pharmaceutical therapies and customize our approach to each patient, so that you can be sure that you're getting the best possible care. Our goal is to help you find relief from pain and regain your quality of life. If you're dealing with chronic pain, we provide chronic care management and encourage you to schedule a consultation. We'll work with you to develop a treatment plan that's tailored to your specific needs.

What are your office hours?

We are available to meet with you Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm and Saturday by appointment only.

What is your philosophy on pain management?

Pain management is a complex and often delicate process. Our philosophy on pain management is conservative, with an emphasis on utilizing opioid-free therapies whenever possible. We believe that conservative therapies, such as physical therapy and non-opioid medications, along with minimally invasive procedures (if necessary), can be effectively used to manage pain in many cases. When opioids are necessary, we believe that they should be used at the lowest possible dose for the shortest possible duration. We do not prescribe opioids for chronic pain (pain lasting more than three months).

What conditions do you treat using ketamine therapy?

Chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia, peripheral neuropathy, nerve injury, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), post-stroke pain, failed back syndrome, trigeminal neuralgia, migraines, cancer, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), multiple sclerosis (MS), lupus, ankylosing spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and opioid dependence. We also use ketamine for treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, and substance abuse. All patients that receive ketamine for a mental health condition must be deemed appropriate by a psychiatrist within the past three months. Free consultations are available to anyone considering ketamine treatments.

Do you offer same-day appointments?

Yes, we offer same-day appointments! We understand that sometimes you need to see a pain medicine specialist right away and we are here to help. We do require that you have your medical records sent over before the visit so that our doctors can be up to date on your health, but as long as we have access to those, we would be happy to schedule you for a same-day appointment.

What is your cancellation policy?

At our Clermont pain management clinic, we understand that life can be unpredictable and sometimes you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. We ask that, if you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. This allows us the opportunity to accommodate other clients who may be waiting for an appointment. If you cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hours notice, you may be subject to a cancellation fee.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept credit, debit, and cash payments. We also offer financing through CareCredit. CareCredit is a credit card that can be used for medical expenses. It offers low-interest financing and no-interest financing options. You can apply for CareCredit online or in our office. If you have any questions about payment options, please contact our office.
